A family specially designed digital materials to enhance learning partner dance steps
Wiith partner-related dancing such as salsa, bachata, kizomba and Rueda can require a lot of abilities with lots of details to consider. For visual learners and those with short-term memory can be very tough in classes and workshops, especially for leaders
who are traditionally men. Also, the learning speed levels can depend on the teacher and the learning levels. This can mean certain classes have a much faster pace, making it harder for those who need extra time to learn. Because dancing followers traditionally
is women following the dance steps the leaders are under pressure to learn effectively and to provide a variety of dance styles at social events.
Without additional information to refer to it can harm dancing development. Certain visual learners with short-term memory can risk facing negative side effects, including mental health stress and anxiety. Also, a person can be wrongly discredited and
excluded through other people's lack of patience and tolerance levels, especially in social environments
Also, I have noticed at dancing conventions, some people have made notes of dance steps they have just learned dance steps in classes and workshops.
Using my observations and personal experiences I have developed a series of self-help dance steps references. These are mainly for dancing leaders traditionally men dancers, however, they can be modified for dancing followers traditionally women.
The aim is to make it easier to learn specific dance steps with information broken down further than verbal instructions at classes and workshops.
My approach
It is presented with the information broken down within the particular face steps, the timing steps and particular actions with particular hands, feet and areas of the body. This is written as Bitesize language so it is efficient to read.
The creative
The concept is divided into specific dance moves with colour coding between special actions of hands & legs. This is important to access specific information very quickly.
These specially designed documents are specially designed for mobile devices, making it easier to access the information very quickly. This project is a development stage, but in the long term to develop dancing teachers as an additional resource for dancing students.
If you're a dance teacher and assistant and would be interested to access the dancing resources, please get in touch by connecting via my linked-in profile.
